“I’m going to Juilliard, when I grow up,” is what Nia Sade said at the age of six.
This spunky kid had already put her sights on something many kids her age ever imagined doing or even attaining.
Nia has grown up watching and listening to The Wiggles, Camp Rock, and High School Musical. At one time she would always be singing all of the hit songs from Hairspray, Les Misérables, and Rent. Now she loves to do karaoke to the hit songs from, Hamilton, The Heights, and The Greatest Showman.
Nia got her “jump start” on the day of her birth when she first was introduced to Baby Signs® (a research-based sign language program for babies) via of her parents Zoom and Amy, who were former Baby Signs consultants and former teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students. Her parents understood the importance for babies being able to communicate early in life through the use of sign language, which was a direct contributing factor to Nia’s advanced reasoning and reading development. At four months she had her television début appearance on the Blue Ridge PBS Program of Tom Landon where she demonstrated her signing skills along with her parents. Her later noted television appearances were on NBC 11Alive Atlanta News as a WIZ Kid and on CBS Better Mornings Atlanta News modeling new spring attire.
Nia has performed in several plays and musicals. When Nia was younger, she performed in Annie Jr. and Godspell and Fiddler on the Roof produced with Onstage Atlanta Theater Company. She also has had the unique opportunity of performing at the legendary Feinstein’s Cabaret in New York City.
Composing lyrics and music, karaoke singing, playing the piano and viola, are only some of the activities Nia likes doing. She makes time to “accessorize” her dolls and relaxes while playing Minecraft™ on her Xbox. She takes great pleasure in creating animated stories with Alice 3D program and building and programming her Lego Mindstorm® robot. Nia has also hosted her own internet radio show called “Nia and Friends” on BlogTalkRadio which allowed her the opportunity to meet and talk with interesting people who she probably would never have met.
After a grueling audition, Nia was one of only a few to be chosen and mentored by Adrian R’Mante for his renowned Celebrity Actors Camp. Nia had the opportunity of meeting Dennis Chun and Michelle Borth from the reboot of Hawaii Five – O TV series and Cameron Goodman along with Lea Salonga who she acknowledges are her role models.
Her most recent and memorable roles were playing “Matilda” in Alice in Wonderland at Aiea Intermediate School, playing the “Villainess” at La Pietra – Hawaii School for Girls in The Best Play Ever Guaranteed! and also playing “Ursula” in Little Mermaid at the Diamond Head Theatre Company.
Nia Sade always gives thanks for the support she receives from her family and friends every day and hopes she will accomplish most, if not all, of those things she dreams about doing
